About the role
Most hiring software is designed for markets that don't look like this one. We want to stop guessing about the gap.
This is a contract research role focused on two questions: how Ethiopian hiring teams actually run a search today — spreadsheets, WhatsApp, walk-ins and all — and what candidates need to see before they'll trust an application form with their time. You'll run studies continuously and feed findings straight into what gets built next.
What you'll do
- Run interviews and usability sessions with recruiters, hiring managers and candidates on a weekly cadence
- Turn sessions into synthesis a designer or engineer can act on this sprint — not a deck that gets filed
- Build a reusable participant pool across employer segments and candidate experience levels
- Test prototypes before they're built, and validate shipped features against what we expected
- Keep a living record of what we know, so the same question isn't researched twice
Who you'll work with
You'll report to the Head of Product and work directly with design and engineering. Findings go into the room where decisions get made.
How we work
Fully remote contract with flexible hours, though sessions with Addis-based participants will shape your week. Initial engagement with scope to extend.
